If you are looking for the conventional then there will be plenty to choose from but we prefer the unusual, something to make your vacation more memorable and certainly unique. For example the self catering cottages at Steading Cottages (left) offer fantastic accommodation but with a gorgeous twist. Taking the idea of unique just that little further you will find the accommodation that we were unable to slot into the cottage or house category the most interesting of the lot, especially the blackhouse (shown to the right).

Vallay House offers self catering accommodation in a 3 bed eighteenth century stone built house which has been fully restored to the highest of standards. Found at Borvemor on South Harris, Vallay House has two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs making it great for families and those with an elderly relative who may have difficulty using the stairs.
