Harris Hotel
Unfortunately there are not a great many hotels on the Isle of Harris but with so many Harris guest houses and bed and breakfast accommodation available there are sufficient to meet demand. The most recent property to become classed as a Harris Hotel by the Scottish Tourist Board is Ardhasaig house (pictured below right) which has the most wonderful views of the Harris hills and the Clisham (the highest mountain on the Isle of Harris). Of all, the Harris hotels, Ardhasaig House has the best views by far.
One of the most exciting developments on the Isle of Harris has to be the total transformation of the Macleod Motel. The Motel has been closed while being totally refurbished from top to bottom being restyled as the first hotel on Harris to be a boutique hotel. As well as the popular bar being extended it is to be deocrated with artwork by local, and well known, artist Willie Fulton. In fact Mr Fulton is providing artwork for the rest of the hotel, now renamed Hotel Hebrides, and is playing an active role in the interior designs. Due to open in August 2008 we are convinced that the Hotel Hebrides will very quickly become the most popular Harris hotel by a large margin so we would suggest that, if you are interested, you contact the Hotel Hebrides at your earliest opportunity to verify availability.

Hotel Accommodation on the Isle of Harris
As mentioned above the Hotel Hebrides is to open August 2008 as a boutique hotel in Tarbert, which is the main village and administrative centre of the Isle of Harris. Within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal and all other amenities in the village the Hotel Hebrides is perfectly place to be one of the best places to base yourself for a Hebridean vacation. Touring the Isle of Harris and the Isle of Lewis will be no problem as all places are within easy driving distance and, by a short ferry crossing from Leverburgh on South Harris, you can visit North and South Uist.

Harris Hotel: Ardhasaig House
Ardhasaig house is a 4 star hotel on the Isle of Harris.
Ardhasaig House in most conveniently situated just outside the main town of Tarbert just off the main road to Stornoway. Being only a few minutes away from Tarbert makes for a much quieter location within easy access to local facilities including the ferry terminal. Early in the season the town can become busy with children from Sir E Scott Secondary School while in the summer months it is extremely busy with a number of well attended events at various times and is most busy when the ferry arrives or departs (navigating throught Tarbert, by car, can be difficult at the best of times).
